I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and had a happy Mother’s day.   In addition to the Covid-related links below I wanted to share that there is an extensive planning effort going on to prepare for in-person activities at Pitt (link).  These include building up an inventory of PPE and establishing policies/procedures that will minimize risk of infection.  These actions are in concert with reduced restrictions in the Pittsburgh area announced by Governor Wolf (link), which will start to take effect on May 15th .  We are therefore hopeful that we will begin some in-person activities this Summer; we will share additional details as they become available.

03-30-2020

The last few weeks have been challenging for everyone in RST, and I want to thank everyone for their patience, flexibility and hard work.  RST is now operating completely remotely which required an enormous team effort to accomplish; we continue to make progress on all fronts while still having time for a break (see happy hour screen shot).  Thanks especially to RST students who are quickly adapting to the online learning environment.

I also want to give a warm welcome to Helen Cochrane, CPO who is officially starting as the new O&P Program Director April 1st.  I also want to thank Dr. Sara Peterson for serving as the O&P director and her continuous support of the program for over 10 years.  Dr. Peterson remains on the RST faculty teaching in the program. Thanks to both of you!
